The 63A RCD incomer provides 30mA personal protection sensitivity across all 6 usable ways. The installer populates the board with MCBs rated to suit each circuit. The metal enclosure is manufactured from powder-coated galvanised steel, meeting BS 7671 requirements for consumer units in domestic premises. Cable entry is via top and bottom knockouts.

Installation Notes

This consumer unit must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with BS 7671 (18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations). Always isolate the supply before installation. The 63A RCD incomer provides earth leakage protection across all outgoing circuits. Note that a fault on any circuit will trip the RCD and disconnect all circuits — for enhanced discrimination, consider a dual RCD or RCBO-populated consumer unit. The RCD test button should be operated at least quarterly. The installer must fit MCBs rated appropriately for each outgoing circuit. Mount the consumer unit on a flat, non-combustible surface at a height between 450mm and 1350mm from finished floor level (Part M accessibility requirements). Ensure all unused ways are fitted with blanking modules to maintain the enclosure IP rating.
