Installation Notes

This consumer unit must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with BS 7671 (18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations). Always isolate the supply before installation. The 100A main switch provides a local means of isolation for the entire installation. The installer must specify and fit appropriate outgoing protection devices (MCBs, RCBOs or RCD + MCB combinations) to suit the circuits being supplied. Earth leakage protection must be provided on all circuits as required by BS 7671 — this can be achieved using RCBOs on each circuit, or by fitting RCDs in a split-load configuration. Mount the consumer unit on a flat, non-combustible surface at a height between 450mm and 1350mm from finished floor level (Part M accessibility requirements). Ensure all unused ways are fitted with blanking modules to maintain the enclosure IP rating.
