Installation Notes

This consumer unit must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with BS 7671 (18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations). Always isolate the supply before installation. The 80A RCD incomer provides earth leakage protection across all outgoing circuits with a higher current rating than the standard 63A variant. The 80A rating is recommended where the installation’s maximum demand exceeds 63A — typically properties with electric showers, large cookers and multiple high-power circuits. The RCD test button should be operated at least quarterly. Mount the consumer unit on a flat, non-combustible surface at a height between 450mm and 1350mm from finished floor level (Part M accessibility requirements). Ensure all unused ways are fitted with blanking modules to maintain the enclosure IP rating.
