2/4-Pole RCD 30mA Type A — Residual Current Device
The DGL2-100-A is a Type A Residual Current Device (RCD) available in both 2-pole and 4-pole configurations, providing enhanced earth leakage protection for modern domestic, commercial and EV charging installations. Type A RCDs detect both AC sinusoidal and pulsating DC residual currents — a requirement under BS 7671 (18th Edition) Amendment 2 for circuits supplying equipment with electronic components such as EV chargers, heat pumps, solar inverters and IT equipment.
Available in 25A, 40A, 63A, 80A and 100A current ratings with 30mA, 100mA and 300mA sensitivity options, this RCD is suitable for personal protection (30mA), fire protection (100mA/300mA) and main switch applications. The 2-pole version suits single-phase installations, while the 4-pole version is designed for three-phase systems. Manufactured to IEC/EN 61008-1 and designed for 35mm DIN rail mounting, it fits all consumer units and standard distribution boards.

- CE certified | CB scheme
- Compliant with BS 7671 (18th Edition) Type A RCD requirements for EV, heat pump and inverter circuits
Installation Notes
This RCD must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with BS 7671 (18th Edition). Always isolate the supply before installation. The RCD must be protected upstream by an appropriately rated MCB or fuse. The test button should be operated at least quarterly. Type A RCDs are required under BS 7671 Amendment 2 for circuits supplying EV charge points, equipment with power electronic converters, and other loads that may produce pulsating DC residual currents. For circuits with smooth DC fault currents, a Type B RCD should be specified.
