Description

RCBO 30mA Type AC — 1P+N Residual Current Circuit Breaker

The DGB1NLE-AC is a 1-pole + neutral (1P+N) Residual Current Circuit Breaker with Overcurrent Protection (RCBO), combining MCB and RCD functionality in a single compact module. This Type AC RCBO provides simultaneous protection against overcurrent, short-circuit and earth leakage faults — replacing the need for a separate MCB and RCD on individual circuits.

Available in current ratings from 6A to 40A with 30mA, 100mA and 300mA sensitivity options, the DGB1NLE-AC is designed for domestic and commercial installations where individual circuit protection is required. The 30mA variant provides personal protection on each outgoing circuit, while 100mA and 300mA variants are used for fire protection applications. With a 6kA breaking capacity and Type C trip characteristic, it meets BS 7671 (18th Edition) requirements for standard domestic installations.

Key Features

  • Combined MCB + RCD in one device — overcurrent, short-circuit and earth leakage protection in a single module
  • Type AC residual current detection — protects against AC sinusoidal earth leakage faults
  • 1P+N configuration — protects both line and neutral in a compact 2-module width
  • Available sensitivities: 30mA (personal protection), 100mA and 300mA (fire protection)
  • Current ratings: 6A, 10A, 16A, 20A, 25A, 32A, 40A — covers all standard domestic circuit sizes
  • 6kA breaking capacity — meets BS 7671 requirements for typical domestic fault levels
  • Type C trip characteristic — suitable for general-purpose circuits
  • Eliminates nuisance tripping on unrelated circuits — each circuit independently protected
  • Test button — allows periodic functional testing of the RCD element
  • 35mm DIN rail mounting — fits all consumer units and standard distribution boards

Installation Notes

This RCBO must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with BS 7671 (18th Edition). Always isolate the supply before installation. The RCBO occupies 2 modules (36mm) on the DIN rail. Connect the line conductor to the L terminal and the neutral to the N terminal — the neutral must be connected for the RCD element to function. The test button should be operated at least quarterly. Type AC RCBOs detect sinusoidal AC fault currents only — for circuits supplying EV chargers, inverters or electronic equipment that may produce pulsating DC faults, specify the Type A variant (DGB1NLE-A) instead.
