2-Pole RCD 30mA Type AC — Residual Current Device

The DGL2-63-AC is a 2-pole Type AC Residual Current Device (RCD) providing earth leakage protection for single-phase domestic and commercial electrical circuits. Designed to detect AC sinusoidal residual currents, this RCD disconnects the supply when earth fault current exceeds the rated sensitivity — protecting people against electric shock and reducing the risk of electrical fires caused by insulation faults.

Available in 25A, 40A and 63A current ratings with 30mA, 100mA and 300mA sensitivity options, the DGL2-63-AC covers a wide range of applications from personal protection (30mA) to fire protection (100mA and 300mA). Manufactured to IEC/EN 61008-1 and designed for 35mm DIN rail mounting, it is compatible with all consumer units and split-load distribution boards. The 2-pole configuration is suitable for single-phase TN-S, TN-C-S and TT earthing systems commonly found in UK installations.

Installation Notes

This RCD must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with BS 7671. Always isolate the supply before installation. The RCD must be protected upstream by an appropriately rated MCB or fuse. The test button should be operated at least quarterly to confirm the RCD trips correctly. Type AC RCDs detect sinusoidal AC fault currents only — for circuits supplying equipment with electronic components that may produce pulsating DC fault currents (e.g. EV chargers, inverters, IT equipment), a Type A or Type B RCD should be specified instead.
